All about Android

                                     ALL ABOUT ANDROID

Welcome dear friends,

I will provide the some information about Android operating system(os) .

The development of Android started in 2003 by Android, Inc., which was purchased by Google in 2005.

 ANDROID was unveiled in 2007

I now introduce you to the minimum specifications required to run the Android os on any smartphone. They are as follows:
32 MB of RAM
32 MB of Flash memory
200 MHz ARM architecture.

On november 2013 Google announced that the minimum requirements for the Kitkat are:

  • ARMv7 processor
  • 512 MB of ram
  • MIPS and x86 architectures
  •  OpenGL ES 3.0
  • ES 2.0 and 1.0
There are many versions released of android by google, inc till date.

They include:-
(each android version has its stock screen shot given below its name)

  • Alpha (1.0)

  • Beta (1.1)(no pic available)

  • Cupcake (1.5)

  • Donut(1.6)

  • Eclair (2.0–2.1)

  • Froyo (2.2)

Gingerbread (2.3–2.3.7)

  • Honeycomb (3.0–3.2.6) (developed especially for Tablets)

      • Ice Cream Sandwich (4.0–4.0.4)

    • Jellybean(4.1-4.3.1)
    • KitKat (4.4–4.4.4)
    • Lollipop (5.0-5.0.2)

The first android version i.e. the alpha was released around 2006-07,it was a very basic model and google had taken a huge risk to release the new android os,fearing how stable would it be and are they going to be successful or not. It's Surprising that the android os that we are using today in our smartphones didn't have a stable music player in its first version.
All the above mentioned android versions{upto kitkat 4.4.4} are fully developed and stable. The next android version(muffin) is expected to be released in late 2014 which preceeded by the Lollipop, which looks like this:

The Android 'M' is on its way and will be released around January 2016

I have personally used froyo(2.2),gingerbread(2.3.5) and Kitkat(4.4.2) and (4.4.4).The latter one is pretty great while the previous versions are usable,a bit to complain.

I have a curiosity about the android M that what will be the name of this version??? the big question is what the “M” stands for? Google uses the names of sweets or puddings to signify major new versions. The first Android version be named after a dessert was Android 1.5 Cupcake. Each major version has then followed an alphabetical order.
For Android M, Google could partner with confectionary company Mars for either the Maltesers, Milky Way, M&Ms or Mars brand names, or perhaps a more generic term such as marshmallow or maple syrup or Mango.

GOOD NEWS,GOOGLE HAS DECIDED THE NAME OF IT'S NEXT ANDROID VERSION AND IT IS : Marshmallow

    Next
Next I will tell you about various apps and games available on the playstore.
Apps and games of all categories from entertainment to productivity and business to painting softwares are available. Some of the them are:
    • Whatsapp
    • Where's my water?
    • Temple run
    • subway surfers
    and many more!!!!!

Moving ahead, Google has released the Android ONE.It promises to give free software updates for the next 2 years.Only 3 companies all other the world have been given the authorized firmware of Android ONE
which is to be put in the smartphones of their companies according to their own wish. The 3 fortunate companies which are blessed by this firmware are the micromax, the spice and karbonn.
